[Inspired from a paper for my masters program]
If we consider synchronicity to be the intimate connection between our life experiences and the collective unconscious then we will inevitably realize that all of life is ultimately a continuous revelation of synchronicity. Carl Jung offered the world a stunning view into the collective unconscious by doing his best to make the symbolic nature of the unconscious visible to humanity. According to Jung, within the unconscious there are themes, archetypes, and symbols that present themselves to us to guide and align our lives according to that which we resonate with (e.g. ‘the hero’, ‘the trickster’, ‘the lover’, etc.). All of humanity then can be thought of as playing out various roles they’ve chosen in accordance within the collective unconscious, which is universal and all beings are unified with it, hence collective.
When we truly realize the profundity of this revelation it shifts our subjective experience into an entirely new realm that tends to be extremely empowering. Life is essentially giving us continuous experiences that we require in order to grow, adapt, and learn according to what we subconsciously or ‘unconsciously’ desire. Synchronicity then can be seen as the process of the entire universe aligning to bring us experiences in fascinatingly intricate ways in order to align with and heal the unconscious theme being played out for us. Another term for the unconscious and its contextual themes/symbolism is referred to in the spiritual realms as ‘karma’ and is equally demonstrating the point of a universal connectivity that governs all life.
Whether we call it karma or the unconscious is really immaterial, the most important thing to realize is its all-pervasive reality. In my experience it took many years and constant external searching before I ever awoke to these notions of karma, the unconscious, or synchronicity. And yet, once they were discovered it became obvious that my entire life had been a perfect reflection of these concepts, including even discovering them in the first place. One could note that even this writing and anyone aligned with reading it is a profound synchronicity in and of itself. Think about it… how did you get here? What is your heart seeking that aligned you to read this?
Now there certainly are more obvious serendipitous moments in life than others and for that I have found every human relationship and interaction to be the most transformational and facilitative of conscious awareness of synchronicity. Human relationships and alignments are incredibly obvious in their unexplainable perfection of reflected interest or some type of significant energetic theme being shared between two or more people. This however also can be reflected in the seemingly ‘negative’ way as well such as wanting to master unconditional love and then realizing that it also brings up all opposition to it. For example, we are trying to be loving and forgiving of everyone and then we are aligned with a situation where our love is challenged in the most significant way in order to ‘test’ our resolve. In this particular example we can note that embracing unconditional love means facing all challenges to proving it wrong with equal poise and certitude, even if it means forgiving murder, rape, torture, abuse, etc. (e.g. Christ on the cross).
Nevertheless, every time I was seeking something in particular throughout my journey it was eventually provided in some seemingly magical way whether it was an intimate relationship, friendships, spiritual guidance, certain information, finding the right graduate program, or even the simplest of things such as particular foods, music, or movies. Due to becoming aware of such things and fully accepting the feeling of dream like lucidity, I have found it impossible to indulge in the belief of coincidences, accidents, or mistakes, all of which now seem to have been illusions the entire time. Therefore it would seem then that everything is always perfect and exactly as it should be without exception. This is what I have found to be absolute truth.
Through synchronicity, it came to my attention that absolutely every single moment of life is an infinitely complex alignment of energy, that is to say an alignment of the collective unconscious/karma. When I truly accepted this, life had subjectively become radically transformed and would never be experienced the same again. The richness and perfection of life became intoxicating and so incredibly obvious. There was simply nothing that couldn’t be appreciated and loved as synchronicity was realized to not be something ‘happening’ but rather is everything that appears to be happening.
When we accept the fact that every infinitely tiny detail of our life experience is exactly how it’s supposed to be, completely perfect, and according to what we want, whether conscious or unconscious, we reach the ultimate state of empowerment by becoming fully aware of the miracle of the present moment. Within this acceptance is the power of awakening to the beauty of life and our subjective experience is forever altered. The present moment is realized to be an eternal, continuous unfolding of synchronistic wonder that has innate to it a sense of lovingness that is unmistakable, immutable, and unconditional. Thus, within such a radical realization it became clear, life is synchronicity.
